Exclusive East African Safari

Featuring the Great Migration Phenomenon

June 3 - 15, 2019

Itinerary       Pricing       Inclusions

Known as one of the “Seven New Wonders of the World,” every summer over two million animals migrate from Tanzania to Kenya in the Great Migration. Wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and more travel en masse from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania up to the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya during the summer months.

Now is our opportunity to witness the wildlife phenomenon on their search for greener pastures.

Come join us on this luxuriously authentic experience as we fly across the globe to East Africa. We’ll enjoy the African adventure we’ve been dreaming of with our stays in gorgeous tented camps (yes, that’s right, tents, but better than you could ever imagine). We’ll see extraordinary wildlife on game drives, and get to see the roof of Africa – Mt. Kilimanjaro. But what will really make it the true African experience is the people – we’ll meet and learn about the different cultures and lifestyles of Tanzanians and Kenyans.

We’ll be spending 10 days exploring Tanzania and Kenya during the Great Migration! This is not an experience you want to miss out on! Come explore with us!

June 3, 2019 - Departure

This will be the day to start off our amazing exploration of Eastern Africa! We’ll depart Roseborough Travel by coach to the Orlando International Airport for our overnight flight.

June 4, 2019 - Dubai - Flying

Our flight will have a long stopover in Dubai! We'll be going on a tour in a private coach to experience the rich history and traditions of Dubai. We'll enjoy a drive along the Palm Jumeirah, and pack your cameras in your carry-on because we'll be making stops at Atlantis The Palm, the Dubai Marina, the Burj Al Arab, and the Jumeirah Mosque. We'll visit the Dubai Mall, which is the second largest mall in the world and includes 1,200 shops. Step back in time in the Al Fahidi Cultural Neighborhood and Art District, where key heritage has been preserved. We'll have the opportunity to explore the Dubai Museum, which was built in 1787, making it the oldest building in Dubai. Afterward, we'll head back to the airport to catch the second leg of our flight to Tanzania.

June 5, 2019 - Arusha, Tanzania

Upon arrival in Arusha, Tanzania, we will be escorted to the Palace Hotel by a representative of Salute Africa. We’ll have the day to enjoy the hotel and its amenities, including the Spa, gardens, and the elegant backdrop of Mt. Meru, Tanzania’s second highest mountain.

Palace Hotel Arusha - 2 Nights

June 6, 2019 - Mt. Kilimanjaro

We’ll start this morning in the nearby town of Moshi, where we’ll enjoy gorgeous views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A dormant volcano with three distinct cones, the mountain is the highest in Africa at about 16,100 feet tall. Then we’ll transfer to the Shanga Social Enterprise, located within the working coffee plantation at the Arusha Coffee Lodge. The enterprise employs people with disabilities to create unique and high-quality handmade goods. Our time there will consist of workshop tours, activities such as glass blowing, information sessions and shopping.

June 7, 2019 - Tarangire, Tanzania

Today we set out on our first safari adventure in Tarangire National Park. We’ll embark on an afternoon game drive, where herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry Tarangire river bed for underground streams. Meanwhile, migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world. The views of Lake Burunge, Tarangire National Park are endless, and on a clear day - Mt. Meru reveals itself as a breathtaking backdrop. We’ll enjoy these views with a traditional sundowner this evening.

Lake Burunge Camp - 2 Nights

June 8, 2019 - Tarangire, Tanzania

Today will be spent exploring the Tarangire National Park with a full day game drive. The Tarangire has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside of the Serengeti ecosystem – a smörgåsbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania that’s home to dry-country antelope, such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk.

June 9, 2019 - Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

This morning we’ll depart for Ngorongoro. Once there, we’ll set out to descend around 2000 feet into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater was once a gigantic volcano, and some maintain that before it erupted it would have been higher than Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. An estimated 25,000 large mammals are resident in this bowl aplenty, including approximately 6,000 resident wildebeest, 16 highly endangered black rhino and around 70 lions. The farm house has a legendary atmosphere of past times on a colonial style coffee plantation with more than 500 acres of land.

June 10, 2019 - Serengeti, Tanzania

This morning marks our departure for Serengeti National Park! Once we arrive at the lodge, we’ll set out for an exciting game drive in one of the best game parks in Tanzania. Serengeti Kati Kati Bush Camp - 2 Nights

June 11, 2019 - Serengeti, Tanzania

Today our game drive will move us towards the Central Serengeti. In the early morning and evening light, the Serengeti landscape is stunningly beautiful. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains in Africa, including more than three million large mammals. The Serengeti’s name actually comes from the Maasai word Siringet, meaning ‘endless plains.'

June 12, 2019 - Maasai Mara, Kenya

This morning, we’ll cross over the border from Tanzania to Kenya on our way to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The Sarova Mara Camp is actually located on the reserve, giving us an amazing opportunity to really experience the area. The rolling plains around the Camp are teeming with wildebeest, gazelles and zebra during the migration months, and the Camp is situated right in the center of their migration path. It also offers a plethora of activities and experiences from luxury tented living to bird-watching, mini golf, sport fishing and a unique insight into the Maasai culture at the adjoining Maasai Village.

June 13, 2019 - Maasai Warrior Village

Along with game drive safaris, we’ll be visiting a traditional Maasai Village for an informative cultural experience tour, where we’ll get to meet the chief and have the opportunity to learn about their culture, traditions and ways of life. Outside of the village, the quintessential landscape of rolling grasslands and acacia savannas host the largest lion population, as well as zebras, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, hippos, giraffes, elands and wildebeest.

Optional Activity: A magical sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Mara plains, floating silently over the savannah to enjoy the view from a bird’s eye perspective. Followed by a luxurious champagne breakfast. (At a supplementary cost.)

We’ll also have free-time and lunch at the museum, where we can explore the beautiful colonial house and grounds. The house, which Karen Blixen lived in from 1914-1931, used to be a coffee plantation and contains many of her original art pieces. Our flight home will be this evening.
